Heather C. Wellborn, Esq.
Owner, Attorney at Law
Heather C. Wellborn founded The Law Offices of Heather C. Wellborn, P.C. in 2006. Ms. Wellborn is licensed to practice law in Arizona and California and focuses on the areas of family law, criminal law, estate law, and bankruptcy. Ms. Wellborn also provides prosecutorial services to the Colorado River Indian Tribe and is a Certified Mediator offering arbitration and mediation services.
In 2014, Ms. Wellborn was presented with the prestigious Mark Santana Law-Related Education Award. This award recognizes exceptional contributions of Arizona attorneys in furthering education and understanding of the role of the law in our democratic society.
In 2020 and 2021, Ms. Wellborn was awarded the “Top 10” award by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. The National Academy of Family Law Attorneys is an organization devoted to recognizing the top family law attorneys in the nation; the award is exclusively presented to those attorneys who show an extraordinary amount of knowledge, skill, experience, expertise and success in their practice of family law.

Anita Dale, Esq is one of the newer members joining the office this year. She spent six and a half years with the Mohave County Public Defender's Office where she represented adults and juveniles in Felony/Misdemeanor criminal matters, Juvenile Dependencies, Juvenile Delinquencies and Mental Health cases.

Cindy Joseph "CJ" Meyers, RN, Esq.

Cindy Joseph "CJ" Meyers, RN, Esq.
CJ Meyers joins the Law Offices of Heather C. Wellborn with a powerful combination of medical and legal expertise as both a Registered Nurse and an Attorney. She earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, where she was recognized for her leadership and received the William F. Blew Legal Pro Bono Award. CJ earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center where she received the Mary Stern Community Action Award. In 2024, CJ was selected as a Women Leader of Havasu by Mohave College in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Before joining the firm, CJ served as Deputy Attorney General for the Colorado River Indian Tribes, handling criminal prosecutions, child dependence, guardianship, juvenile cases and a host of civil matters. Her work with CRIT, a federally recognized Tribe, in the state of Arizona sharpened her knowledge of Tribal, Federal and State jurisdictional issues. She also served as Special Assistant United States Attorney and is a member of the Federal Bar authorized to practice in Federal Court. Licensed in Arizona, New Mexico, and Washington, D.C., and a multi-state Registered Nurse, CJ’s ability to navigate both the courtroom, complex medical issues and the federal bench brings added depth to the firm’s practice.
Her extensive trial advocacy background, combined with years of medical and community service, makes her a formidable advocate for clients in personal injury, criminal defense, child and adult guardianships, child dependency, adoption, family law matters, best interest attorney, due process attorney for problem-solving courts and special prosecution. CJ’s experience ensures clients receive thorough, ethical, and strategic representation, strengthening the firm's tradition of excellence.

Mr John C Churchill is a lawyer practicing business law, personal injury law, domestic relations and 15 other areas of law. John received a B.A. degree from Arizona State University in 1972, and has been licensed for 44 years. John practices at Law Office of John C. Churchill in Parker, AZ.

Paralegal
Jennifer A. Ward found her home as a legal assistant with the Law Offices of Heather C. Wellborn in February 2008. Previously, she worked in Personal Injury/Medical Malpractice in Glendora, CA. In July of 2007, she made the move to Lake Havasu City. Mrs. Ward passed her AZLDP exam in March 2022 and is now a paralegal with the firm.
Kelsee L. Whittington started working for the Law Offices of Heather C. Wellborn in 2020. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice Cum Laude from Arizona State University in May 2019. In May 2022, Whittington passed the AZLDP exam June 2024 and is now a paralegal with the firm.

Connie Cowins
Legal Assistant
Connie Cowins joined the Law Offices of Heather C. Wellborn, PC family in September of 2024. Previously owning and operating Alphabets with Love Day Care in Downey, CA she shows great empathy and compassion for those the Firm serves. Mrs. Cowins has extensive experience as a Realtor and Notary and spent many years as an administrative assistant for a major chemical manufacturing company in California prior to her move to Arizona. Mrs. Cowins also has over 10 years of experience as a legal assistant and she enjoys spending time with her family and helping others.

Yesenia Castillo
Legal Assistant
Yesenia Castillo Joined the Law Offices of Heather C. Wellborn family in 2023. Castillo began her legal career in 2009 when she obtained employment at a general practice office where she gained over a decade's worth of hands-on experience in an array of legal cases. She obtained her Arizona notary in 2015 and is working towards passing the Arizona Legal Document Preparer (AZLDP) exam.

Lacey Dawn Stewart
Legal Assistant
Joining in 2025, Lacey holds a Masters of Science in Criminal Justice from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Idaho State University. She began as a legal assistant within the criminal defense sector, transitioned into a judicial assistant, and is working towards obtaining her AZLDP certification.
